Northern NSW - 11 December 2015 - 3 January 2016

Ali and I did the Wollumbin (Mount Warning) summit track which is 9km long and rises 720m.  It traverses some beautiful country and involves some scrambling and rock hopping but the views from the summit are spectacular.
Nimbin is as we remember it from six years ago and I'm fairly sure the footpaths haven't been swept since then either!
Byron Bay, beautiful but commercial.  The locals like to think of themselves as "alternate", however unlike Nimbin, these bare footed hippies get pedicures!
South West Rocks feels like home to us.  It is our annual Christmas pilgrimage and somewhere we look forward to throughout each year.  We were a little apprehensive thinking this year we may see it differently, having now seen various beaches labeled "Australia's best", however, it was as we remembered - paradise.  We had Jada's birthday and Christmas Day here with Jada's Mum and Dad, the Steele family (fellow clockwise lappers) and our "South West Rocks" friends.  The Sweeneys also called in on their way to Brisbane which was great.
Post Christmas our friend Pip and her three children came to the Rocks and spent some time with us. The weather wasn't great but we had great fun together.
Another special gathering happened here.  Three of Jada's friends from university days came to visit.  Jodie, Natalie and Debbie (Debbie we also saw in Darwin in July) were part of a close knit group at uni and obviously nothing has changed.
